The re-discoverer of this form of healing in recent times though was a Dr. Edward Bach, a member of the Royal College of Surgeons and a renowned Harley Street physician and bacteriologist. In 1930 he gave up his practice and research work, being convinced that better methods of healing existed within Nature, than were at his present disposal. Subsequently he devoted himself to discovering remedies in the plant world which would restore vitality to those in ill health and help them to overcome worry, fear and depression and so assist in the healing process. Out of that research came what are now known as the "Bach Remedies", 38 in number.
Since then other people have carried out research into Flower Essences, in America, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia and elsewhere. The result today is that there are many hundreds of remedies available to the Flower Essence therapist. In addition a great deal of work has been done from a psychic point of view in obtaining a deeper understanding of how the essences work. Flower Essences can be used with great benefit for relief of both physical and psychological conditions, but they are also a means whereby an inner harmony and understanding of spiritual realities can be regained.
